Life can be hard sometimes, and finding books read to escape reality may be just what one needs. From the list compiled here, you may find yourself weeping, laughing, shocked and all emotions you can think of but most of all this list will provide the fun and light that you need.
The Ex-Girlfriend by Nicola Moriarty
We all know the number of times we have been referred to as ex-girlfriends in the eyes of a new woman or have another woman regarded as the obsessed ex when a man is trying to impress you so you can be his new target? I think a lot of us can relate, this book is filled with the everyday drama of relationships that involve men incapable of telling the truth. Jaw-dropping, you will definitely stay glued in this book and probably get the shock of your life at the extent men lie to keep women in their loop of lies.
The Man Who Didn’t Call By Rosie Walsh
That awkward moment after spending some time with a man and he goes silent on you afterward? And you make endless phone calls to your friends trying to justify why he hasn’t called you yet, LOL please man, as if you can’t see the truth right in front of your eyes. Well, this book will make you fall in love, cry, forgive and all the imaginable feels you can think of. Warning: You might not be able to put it down, please don’t stay awake the whole night reading, save it for the next few days. But have fun.
Me Before You By Jojo Moyes
Well well well, grab some tissues, you will need them later. If you have watched the movie, you are aware of how saddening this book is. If you have been feeling overwhelmed lately and perhaps struggling to cry, I added this book to this list for that exact reason. You need to release, and nothing like releasing the overwhelm and stress like a box of tissues and crying, yes I encourage crying, and you might feel like you’re being dramatic but who cares. Life does a number on us, I mean why would someone meet their soulmate and spend the rest of their lives without them. Oh, Will Traynor.
Still Me Jojo Moyes
I am turning out to be a fan of Jojo Moyes, I mean why not? She is a brilliant author and her books are just that interesting. One would assume that after Will’s death, Louisa Clarke would finally be lucky in love, but the authors don’t think so. From planning a surprise visit to her new boyfriend, only to find him with yet another woman on the same night, wuuu that’s some drama. And guess what, she forgives him and gives their relationship another try, I don’t encourage this decision in real life Don’t Do It.
It Started With A Secret by Jill Mansell
You can tell by the title, that this book is full of secrets. From children appearing late in life to find their fathers, weird fans, and two friends claiming to be a couple while the other one is gay just so they can secure a job. I love their work, I mean sometimes you have to do what you have to do. This book will make you laugh, fall in love, and feel young again.
My Year of Rest And Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh
If you are planning on taking a break from life’s everyday chaos, I may have found a companion for you. After feeling exhausted by life and coming from a privileged background, of course, this young, thin, troubled lady decides to shut herself from the world for a year. Her story is full of pain, she has everything she needs in her life, yet surrounded by a boyfriend who mistreats her and emptiness. You might not want to put it down, she sometimes turns into a savage who doesn’t like her best friend anymore.
A Dream of Italy By Nicky Pellegrino
Italy seems to sell homes for $1 often and in this book, you meet women who abandon their unfulfilling relationships and marriages setting their eyes on a new life, I love it when women turn their backs on societal norms to pursue a life of their dreams. This brings a happy ending for everyone involved, and heartbreak for a man who travels to follow his wife in Italy only to find that she has fallen in love with an Italian man, of course, I am rooting for this new relationship. From a distance, Italian men seem very interesting I would have done the same thing.
I hope you find humor and some heartwarming moments reading these books. If you would rather read about romance , check out the best romance books to read here .
