Our lives are often centered around the habits we practice daily. We share some habits that can change your life. “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Will Durant

Just as we practice bad habits, we can then change and practice habits that are beneficial to our overall well-being. Improving the quality of your life begins with practicing tiny habits. Carefully choosing habits that are beneficial is where we begin to improve our lives and lead a more fulfilling life.

Habits that can change your life

Journaling

One of the best habits to practice is journaling. You can journal about anything. For more about what to journal, you can read our previous post about journaling. Some of the tremendous benefits of journaling include improved mental wellness. When I committed to journaling, I witnessed my overall mental health improve. I discovered an outlet for issues I wouldn’t have been able to convey to friends. It also became a mini therapy, where I processed emotions.

Read Good Books

The beauty of books is that you can find the world you haven’t encountered yet. Not only will you meet interesting characters, but you will also learn a lot about life in its entirety. There is no limit to the amount of information you can get from books. If you are looking for books to read about awareness, you can check our collection here.

Start a side hustle

This one is my absolute favorite. Starting a side hustle is challenging and empowering at the same time. Not only do you stand a chance to earn more money, but you also discover your own capabilities. Whether you succeed or not, what matters is that you would have let go of your limitations and attempt something. Check out this website testing side hustle to earn some extra money.

Learn a new skill

Have you been considering learning a new language? Or better yet, just a new set of skills that can improve your life or career? Well, Udemy or Skillshare may be the best place for you. Improving life’s skills is essential as it opens more doors for greater opportunities. The process of learning never stops.

Spend time in solitude

Spending time in solitude is helpful to discover your true self. This is a moment where you’re not compromising, but just existing according to your own terms. Engage in solo dates, go out for coffee by yourself, go on solo vacations, and enjoy some alone time. If you are worried about awkward moments, they eventually disappear. Plus, when on solo vacations, you are bound to meet solo travelers and learn more about making your life glorious to exist in. Get to know the real you, outside external influence. Stay away from weird men while at it.

Go out in nature

Grab a book and go chill by the lake for a day. You can go for a hike as well, which is my favorite. We are one with nature, and spending a day in nature is good for the mind. Hiking also helps with fitness goals. You can count on a walk-in nature to ease your stress. Although we are grateful for technology, hiking is beneficial to unplug from online activities and just enjoy mother nature.

Ditch bad company

Spending your time in bad company can really be exhausting. Although I may not have to say it, you know the people who just bring out the worst in you. That group of people that leaves you regretting the time you spent with them? Well, how about you start making excuses to avoid spending your time with them?

Start working out

There are tremendous benefits of working out. From improved mood, increased energy, and improved sleep patterns. While working out requires a lot of discipline and consistency, you will discover a side of you that shows up for commitments. You can practice yoga, join the gym or if you are lazy like some of us, you can just go for walks. Sweatcoins has rewards for counting your steps. The most important part is to show up and enjoy the benefits of staying active.

Meditation

For those looking to have a deeper connection spiritually, you may find meditation as a good starting point. If you are battling with anxiety, you can also practice meditation to calm yourself. If you are new to meditation, you can rely on guided meditation based on the outcome you are looking for. Whether you want to meditate to manifest the love of your life, more wealth, reduce anxiety, or just overall to remain grounded, all of that is available for you. You can check out our beginner-friendly meditation videos.
